Slow and steady
Nice and easy
The bed sags nightly
Unnoticeably, the colchón
Develops a quiet indentation
Perfectly fitted to his body
Cradling him
She was made for (by) him
Sometimes he moves in his sleep
The hueco gloved to his shape
Sinks further, pushing her frame
Wooden boards begin to bend
They creak their warning
He's too fast asleep to notice
The whole bed sighs at the heaviness
Happy to support and comfort him
Small pops accompany the creaking
Her frame, old before the new man and colchón
Begins finally to crack, little yelping pops
Ignored
Bits and pieces fall and al final
She screams
He curses her for falling apart
Breaks her into smaller pieces
Calls for an extra heavy pick-up
Holds her above the green trash can
Drops her.
